Under the auspices of the National Agency of mobility and EU programmes, a mid-term training was held for volunteers who are halfway or near the end of their experience related to long-term volunteering in European solidarity corps projects. Since I am the only example of a volunteer who volunteers through the ESS programme within the city where I live in – I did not go through the process of adapting to a new culture, community and everyday life like other volunteers I’ve met in the training. We had four days from October 26 to October 29 to get to know better what other volunteers do, what are the goals of the associations in which they volunteer. With a refreshing and interesting approach of the trainers of the National Agency, we questioned ourselves, the competencies we acquire through our volunteering experiences and what are all the possibilities for us in the future. We’ve been located in the Children’s Resort Merkur in Orahovica, where everyday there were three delicious meals waiting for us, prepared with the love by ladies from the kitchen. From the conversations with other volunteers and the program we went through the training, I broadened my horizons and got ideas for future workshops, projects … The first day we presented ourselves with presentations we made before arrival, and we could present ourselves in any form. We learned what other opportunities exist in the form of volunteering, what exactly is a youthpass and how to fulfill it. On the penultimate day, we had the opportunity to lead our own workshops and share knowledge about writing personal projects, and what the process is related to them. Volunteers selflessly shared what they know, and coaches jumped in with more information. We even had opportunity to play softball and learn basics of that sport thanks to volunteer Lenka who, by the way, volunteers in Softball klub Princ in Zagreb. This whole training is an experience that has enriched us all on multiple levels. Personally, I feel that I have broken my own boundaries when it comes to talking and expressing thoughts in front of a larger group of people, and this was not achieved by forcing but because I was surrounded by people who know how to listen and respect different thoughts. Already on the second day, the feeling that we have known each other for a long time began to form, as it usually happens when there are people in one place who are led by similar things through life. Personally, I want as much of  experiences like this  because it helps to bounce back from everyday life and move out of a comfort zone that can become uncomfortable in its passivity. I want to stay active and hardworking individual in this world and stay on path of infinite possibilities.
