Ciljevi projekta:
- Podrška izgradnji kapaciteta youth workera i organizacija koje rade s mladima;
- Razviti inovativne prakse u radu s međunarodnim volonterima;
- Povećati kvalitetu rada s mladima u organizacijama sudionicama primjenom razvijenih intelektualnih rezultata;
- Promicati aktivno građanstvo, volontiranje i solidarnost

On 29th November IKS employees Emily and Sabina, went to Rome for the final partner meeting on the Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnership project “Rise in Quality”. This project is an international collaboration between Association IKS (Croatia), Replay Network (Italy), Association Mundus (Spain) and Pistes Solidaires (France). After some delays in the project due to the 2020 earthquake in Petrinja and Covid 19 crisis, the project is finally nearing its end, and this meeting brought all partners together to evaluate the outcomes and to plan next steps.
The “Rise in Quality” project aims to equip youth workers with the capabilities and tools to successfully host international volunteers through the European Solidarity Corps programme.
The goals of the project:
- Support capacity building of youth workers and participating organisations;
- Develop innovative practices in working with international volunteers;
- Increase quality of youth work in participating organisations by applying developed intellectual outputs;
- Promote active citizenship, volunteering and solidarity.
During this partner meeting we discussed the success so far of the project and evaluated all that we have achieved, this includes:
- Two staff training courses on supporting international volunteers integration and support in times of crisis
- An online training tool to support international volunteers during their mobility, to maximise their learning experience
- A guidebook for organisations hosting international volunteers, providing practical information and experience based practice
During the day we also had the opportunity to meet a local organisation “Orti Urbani di Largo Veratti” that manages an urban garden in Rome. We had a tour of the beautiful garden that includes vegetable plots, event space, an outdoor kitchen and educational bubbles for youth. They have lots of successful projects running and the potential to host international volunteers soon. We exchanged stories and experiences then came away feeling inspired and ready for our next challenge.
Thank you to Replay Network for being such wonderful hosts, for showing us around your local community and introducing us to some delicious Italian food.
This has been a wonderful project to work on thanks to the commitment, creativity and hard work of our partners. We have developed and grown together, enabling our organisations to strengthen as volunteer hosts. We hope that plenty more organisations will benefit from the tools we have produced and volunteers will feel better supported on their learning journey.
On 14th December, we will be hosting a conference for all those organisations that do not yet have experience but would like to host international volunteers through the European Solidarity Corps programme. We will provide practical guidance and tools to support you with the process.
