Društveno-kulturni centri – #daimamgdje ponovno izgraditi našu zajednicu, a za to je potrebna Vaša pomoć
Grupa građana i organizacija civilnog društva, okupljena u kampanji „Zajednica u centru – da imam gdje… živjeti“, koju predvode udruge IKS iz Petrinje i Agencija lokalne demokracije (ALD) Sisak, uz podršku Mreže mladih Hrvatske i Operacije grad, najavljuje osnivanje dva društveno-kulturna centra u Sisačko-moslavačkoj županiji – jedan u Petrinji i jedan u Sisku.
Više informacija o kampanji i ciljevima bit će objavljeno bliže samom početku kampanje.

Socio-cultural centers – #daimamgdje to rebuild our community and for that we need your help!
A group of citizens and civil society organizations, gathered in the campaign “Community in the center – to have a place to live”, led by IKS from Petrinja and the Agency for Local Democracy (ALD) Sisak, with the support of the Croatian Youth Network and Operation City, announces the establishment of two social -cultural centers in Sisak-Moslavina County – one in Petrinja and one in Sisak. The goal of these centers is to be a new center of social and cultural life in these communities after the earthquake, as places where citizens can spend time, get help, develop culturally and educationally, and most importantly participate in creating these spaces and community development. This requires the help of all citizens, which is why a national and international crowdfunding campaign will be launched on 22 September.
The earthquake of 6.4 on the Richter scale, which hit Banija on December 29, did not only destroy homes. More than infrastructure, it has damaged the community of people living in the area. With the fact that many are still homeless, even nine months later, and that the speed of reconstruction is uncertain, it is more important than ever to maintain the interpersonal bonds that hold the community together. Precisely to ensure the future of this community, a group of activists, volunteers, people who actively help in the field from day one until today, wants to provide all Banians with space to create the future of their community together.
That is why two socio-cultural centers are being established – one in Petrinja, one in Sisak. Socio-cultural centers (DKC) are places where activities are held such as: workshops and education, counseling and other forms of support and assistance (legal, psychosocial, etc.), volunteer and humanitarian actions, cultural events and, most importantly, what whatever the citizens themselves need and what they want to organize in order to enrich the content and provide assistance to their communities. The essence of DCCs is to work with the community and with citizens, not only as a service provider, but as an inclusive, open space for all. DKCs are created on the basis of many years of work of the associations IKS and ALD Sisak in the community and the need for such spaces has never been greater.
But in order for DCCs to be realized, help is needed. Container facilities have been provided for the premises themselves, which will be only the first phase of the multi-year development of DCCs. But in order for activities to be held in these areas, they need to be equipped and the help of all citizens is needed. It is for this reason that the crowdfunding campaign will start on September 22 and will last for three weeks and all donations that will be collected will be invested exclusively in equipment needed for activities such as film screenings, various educations, music events, workshops for children, etc.
More information about the campaign and goals will be posted closer to the start of the campaign. Until then, as part of the campaign announcement, an online conference on socio-cultural centers, the situation in Banja and the campaign itself will be held on September 16, which can be followed via Zoom and the Facebook pages of the associations conducting the campaign. watch the short video “teaser” of the campaign itself at the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_YIgmVt1IM. Anyone wishing to receive information about the start of the donor campaign can already pre-register at the link:https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdu6Gz0wtLR8v-PjQMouslodUzwxNC3vLj9GrHgD1uze2ZQGQ/closedform
It is time for Banija to get a chance to flourish. It is not enough to just return to the pre-earthquake situation, but it is time for this area to finally get the community content and development it deserves, for residents to find what they need for a quality life in their local community. That is why it is the motto of the “hashtag” of the #daimamgdje campaign. First of all, the people of Banija just want that – to have a place. This campaign was launched because it wants to give them exactly “where”.
