Društvene igre sa slijepim osobama

Društvene igre pokreću kreativnost i razvijaju logiku razmišljanja.

Zato smo odlučili spojiti mlade i stare, videće i slijepe, ‘strane’ i ‘domaće’ osobe upravo kroz zajedničko igranje društvenih igara i time poraditi na održavanju njihovih psihofizičkih sposobnosti. Volonterski centar Petrinja, volonteri Europskih snaga solidarnosti i korisnici Udruge Slijepih SMŽ organizirali su 13.11.2020 turnir u društvenim igrama prilagođenim slijepim i slabovidnim osobama.

Volonteri s povezima i slijepi korisnici igraju zvučni pikado

”Prošlog smo petka išli u Udrugu slijepih i njihov Dnevni centar u Sisku.
-Dario (BiH)

Igranje domina i učenje o prilagodbama slijepih osoba

Još malo zvučnog pikada i igranja igre 4 u nizu

-Alexis (Francuska)

Board games stimulate creativity and develop the logic of thinking. They are fun, encourage positive thoughts, laughter and enjoyment. In addition, a lot of social games require the use of motoric skills, which improves coordination and dexterity, but also more complex cognitive activities that improve memory. They are important for all developmental and age groups, and especially for the elderly.

That is why we decided to connect young and old, seeing and blind, ‘foreign’ and ‘local’ people through playing board games together and thus working on maintaining their psychophysical abilities. The Volunteer Center Petrinja, European Solidarity corps volunteers and the beneficaries of the Association of the Blind Sisak Moslavina organized a tournament in board games adapted for blind and partially sighted people on November 13, 2020. Board games adapted for blind people in appearance and rules correspond to standard board games, but contain adaptations for blind and partially sighted people in the form of additional Braille letter, enlarged black print and tactile features. In addition to playing board games like dominoes, man don’t get mad, 4 in a row, black peter and chess, participants taught us how to play darts “blindly”.
As part of the activity, the occupational therapist of the Association of the Blind held an informal educational workshop on the mobility of the blind, and the beneficiaries themselves introduced the volunteers to their own perception, ways of functioning and adjustments in everyday life.

After morning coffee and pleasant socializing with learning a few words in Croatian, Turkish and French, the crew was divided into smaller groups depending on which game they chose. How we did is best described by the impressions of the participants and the photos.

Last Friday we went to the Blind People Association Center in Sisak. As soon as we arrived everyone made sure we felt comfortable introducing us to the blind people while serving us coffee and snacks. After the introduction we started playing board games that we specifically made for blind people. We played chess, domino, four in a row, little house and darts – which was easily my favorite one. This was my first volunteering experience with the blind people and I would be more than happy to come back since it was such a pleasent, heartwarming and educational experience.”
– Dario (BiH)

It was my first experience with board games which are adapted for blind and visual impaired people. It was such an amazing experience for me. We chose games blind player has prior experience, be sure to ask them about the games they’ve played and enjoyed. We wanted to be sure ıf games are playable. We, as volunteers, assisted the blind people during the game, like orientation and positioning. Also I was announcing my every move so that they could know what’s going on the board. It was different of course to put myself in their shoes.  In additionally, as youngsters and old people we tried to chat, share experience between two generations. I had so much fun and I’d love to participate every week !! we can learn and teach them how to play new games, I’m sure language differences wont be barrier ! loved it.”
– Necla (Turkey)

It was a really good moment . We played together in different games as domino, chess and fourinarow.  We shared a meal together and it was the opportunity to know more about each other. Than, we decided to have a competition in dart. It was interesting to try to play with a blindfolder and simulatory glasses, and to feel and understan the visual difficulty blind people face. I would like to do others activities with blind people as walking, playing game.”
– Marion (France)

It was not my first activity with them. I also made a blind coffee. It was just as interesting but also different because there I was able to see more closely the difficulties he encountered on a daily basis. I could see the skills they were using to be able to play and manage more or less on their own. It was really interesting. The funniest part was the darts with the glasses that kept us from aiming well. I recommend this activity.”
Alexis (France)

Through this activity, we work on maintaining the psychophysical abilities of the users of the Association of the Blind SMŽ, but also those of volunteers, and we reduce the feeling of loneliness. Also, local associations of different fields of activity have been merged in order to achieve common benefits at both the local and regional level.
