During May and June in Association IKS, we had the company of volunteers from Norway, Ines and Thomas. In cooperation with our partners from the Norwegian Hordaland County Council, we conducted a project “EVS 4 inclusion” through which volunteers participated in volunteer activities at the Home for the elderly and infirm and Home for mentally ill, designed workshops for children and youth and promoted the mobility of young people.

Summer is always a busy time in Association IKS, we are trying to design and ensure the best offer of free time activities for children and young people. After the school year, children have a need to fulfill their time and our volunteers organize interesting and educational workshops and games.

After two months in Petrinja, Ines and Thomas learned a lot, about themselves and community they stayed in. Volunteering in a foreign country develops many skills and specific knowledge that Erasmus + program evaluates through the Youthpass certificate. Youthpass contains all knowledge and experience gained through volunteering, described through eight key competencies.

So both Thomas and Ines received their Youthpass certificates and said goodbye to their mentors, colleagues and other volunteers and went home, with new invaluable memories and friends.
