ESC volunteers spend a lot of their time in IKS helping out our local friends and partners, including supporting the work and activities at the Inlusive farm in Hrastovica. Minimun once a week and sometimes even twice a week, volunteers join and bring in a bit of fresh air to Hrastovica. This week, the group od 6 international volunteers from France, Spain, the Netherlands and Ukraine joined forces to help with gardeing, harvesting, cooking with the beneficiaries that spend their time on Farma, exchange and just have fun. Below you can read the impression and short overview of the activities from volunteer Alex.
”Yesterday, all the volunteers went to the Inclusive farm in Hrastovica. It’s was a lovely time were the volunteers bonded well with the beneficiaries, they harvested carrots from the garden as well as other vegetable from which they cooked a Croatian Ratatouille.
One of the volunteers mowed the grass, it was the best experience of his life as he says. I mean just look at the picture. Pure happiness in his eyes. The beneficiaries taught the volunteers some basic Croatian, mainly the numbers. It gave the volunteers a better understanding of their day to day life. In the end, Milena (farm manager) gave IKS volunteers fresh tomatoes and aromatic herbs which were planted in the garden at the HQ in Petrinja.”

ESS volonteri provode velik dio svog vremena u IKS-u pomažući našim lokalnim prijateljima i partnerima, uključujući podršku radu i aktivnostima na Inkluzivnoj farmi u Hrastovici. Najmanje jednom tjedno, a ponekad i dvaput, volonteri dolaze i unesu dašak svježine u Hrastovicu. Ovaj tjedan, grupa od šest međunarodnih volontera iz Francuske, Španjolske, Nizozemske i Ukrajine udružila je snage kako bi pomogli u vrtlarenju, berbi, kuhanju zajedno s korisnicima koji provode vrijeme na Farmi, razmjeni iskustava i jednostavno zabavi. „Jučer su svi volonteri otišli na Inkluzivnu farmu u Hrastovici. Bilo je to prekrasno iskustvo u kojem su se volonteri lijepo povezali s korisnicima. Brali su mrkvu iz vrta, kao i drugo povrće od kojeg su skuhali hrvatsku varijantu ratatouillea.
Jedan od volontera kosio je travu i rekao da mu je to bilo najbolje iskustvo u životu. Mislim, samo pogledajte fotografiju. Čista sreća u njegovim očima. Korisnici su volonterima podučavali osnove hrvatskog jezika, uglavnom brojeve. To je volonterima omogućilo bolje razumijevanje njihova svakodnevnog života. Na kraju je Milena (voditeljica farme) darovala IKS-ovim volonterima svježu rajčicu i aromatično bilje koje je zasađeno u vrtu u sjedištu u Petrinji.”
