Zdravo !
Ja sam Pauline, imam 21 godinu i dolazim iz Francuske iz Strasbourga, blizu Njemačke. Trenutno volontiram u Hrvatskoj u udruzi IKS sljedeća 2 mjeseca, kao dio Europskih snaga solidarnosti.
Moje tri godine studija društvenog dizajna omogućile su mi da kritički sagledam današnji svijet i shvatila sam važnost kolektiva koji se suočava s društvenim i ekološkim problemima i želim da zajedno krenemo naprijed prema promjenama.
Međutim, nakon lockdowna i corone osjetila sam potrebu prekinuti rutinu, promijeniti okolinu, izaći iz svoje zone komfora. Osjećala sam da je vrijeme da dam konkretnije značenje vrijednostima koje branim ida imaju stvaran utjecaj.
Aktivnosti koje vodi IKS odmah su mi odgovarale jer cilj je djelovati uglavnom na lokalnoj razini, vratiti stanovnicima moć djelovanja, ojačati svakoga da promijeni grupu. Potreba je tim važnija u Petrinji, potresom pogođenoj regiji s marginaliziranim stanovništvom.
Uz ovo volontiranje, nadam se da ću se osjećati korisnom dok pomažem zajednici. Nadam se da ću se dobro zabaviti s ostalim volonterima i uspostaviti veze sa stanovnicima zajednice.
Inače, za zabavniju verziju sebe (jer sam duhovita osoba unatoč sebi): ne mogu reći volim li više more iliplanine, iako sam već puno putovala, zovu me pagau, ali mrzim pogos (na koncertima, kad se svi guraju), i na kraju nesvjesno ponavljam na usnama što drugi govore da mi ide u mozak 😀

I’m Pauline, I’m 21 years old and I’m from France in Strasbourg, near Germany. I’ m currently a volunteer in Croatia at IKS for the following 2 months, as part of the European Solidarity Corps.
My three years of study in social design allowed me to take a critical look at the world today and I realised the importance of the collective to face these social and environmental issues and move forward together towards change.
However, following the lockdown, I felt the need to break the routine, to change my environment, to get out of my comfort zone. I felt that it was time to give a more concrete meaning to the values I defend and to have a real impact.
The action led by IKS immediately spoke to me, because the objective is to act mainly on a local scale, to give back the power to act to the inhabitants, to make each one stronger to change the group. The need is all the more important in Petrinja, a region affected by an earthquake with marginalised populations.
With this volunteering, I hope to feel useful while helping the community. I hope to have a good time with the other volunteers and to create links with the inhabitants of the community.
Otherwise, for a more fun version (because I am a funny person despite myself): I can’t tell if I prefer the sea or the mountains, even if I’ve already travelled a lot, I’m called paugau but I hate pogos (in concerts, when everyone pushes each other), and finally I unconsciously repeat on my lips what the others say so that it goes to my brain 😀
