Kampanja za osnaživanje žena – inspiracije i uzori

Elina Guesnon

This week is a particular one, we are asking you to participate and to think about who in your life inspired you to be a better person, about the woman close to you or not (can be someone famous), that you want to celebrate because she is someone that guides you, because you love her fights and respect her. We invite you to think about it, it can be personal if you are shy, but if you want to share it with us, don’t hesitate to reach us! Because we ask you to share something personal about your life this week, we are going to do the same. That is why today, I will present the woman that in my life guided me the most (and still does), the woman that always advised me.

In our life, we encounter dozens of people, people that we like, people that we dislike, people that we want to follow their example, but for me even after all those encounters, the woman that still inspired me the most in my life is my mother. Maybe it is the case for a lot of people, maybe not, but she is the person that was always there for me, supporting my choices, or questioning it when it was needed. I always looked at her for advices, she always calmed me when I was going crazy, and supported me when I was sad. I always admired her courage and tenacity, and let’s be honest sometimes mothers can be scary :), but still for me she is an inspiration, because after all the hardship of life, she still is a rock in mine.

It’s an honor to write about my grandmother, whom I celebrate as her legacy inspires me daily. She moved in next door to my parents after my grandpa passed, living independently (with some help from family) until age of 96. This was a major influence as she was so close to me during very formative years in my life.

She held our family together in many ways. She had an unconventional perspective, always challenging me to think creatively. It seemed like she had connections with people everywhere, always getting phone calls from people to keep her informed and ask her for advice. She of course always knew best, as all grandmothers do!

She was a talented pianist, painter, and had a beautiful garden I loved to see growing. She always had an anecdote for every situation, highlighting the importance of storytelling. All of these aspects contributed to me admiring and at the same time feeling intimidated by her many talents and confidence she radiated. At the end of the day, the best was the feeling of unconditional love she always made sure to share with me.

Week 7: Celebration – Inspiration & Role Models

Zato ću vam danas predstaviti ženu koja me u životu najviše vodila (i još uvijek to čini), ženu koja me uvijek savjetovala.

Čast mi je pisati o svojoj baki koju slavim jer me njeno naslijeđe svakodnevno inspirira.
